Annnnnd my job as a security system installation tech finally came in handy for this renovation! I put in a bunch of wires for a couple new phone jacks, and some network ports. The new office will be *connected*.
Yo.

A ladder. A girl's second best friend. Her first best friend is steel fish tape. Which I really wish had been part of the tool kits they'd given us for installing security systems. It was so much *easier* than a glowrod.....
Up the ladder with wire.
Down the ladder, with wire.
Untangling the wire (these are all very highly skilled jobs, I'll have you know)
Across 2 sections of ceiling, down the hall, through a door frame, into a very small space under the stairs, and back up the ladder, with wire.
Mom wanted to document every stage of this. Especially anything to do with the ladder.
Actually this was the most finicky part, I had to thread the cat 6 and cat 5 cable through existing holes for electrical so that it would sit properly in the wall cavity and not be hanging around making a mess of the storage space under the stairs.
Which is why I look like I'm stuck in the ceiling......
Horray for progress on the house:)
