Packing, or what you will.

So our new current favourite ultimate pastime is putting a movie on and then packing boxes in the living room.

This unfortunately is going to quickly become our previous favourite ultimate pastime, because we are running out of things that we can easily get into the living room downstairs to pack.
>_<

Maybe we'll put on one on a computer while we hack away at the office tonight. O_O

There is so much to pack. It is slightly overwhelming sometimes.
We'll get a section done, stand back with satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment, and then peek into the garage.. or the office...
And feel like we've gotten nothing done.

>_<

BUT! We are done one bedroom downstairs, and we have pulled out a bunch of things that need to go to other people's houses.. or to the cabin.

And after this weekend, most of that stuff going elsewhere will have made it's journey, and maybe we'll feel like we've reached a milestone.

Or maybe it'll just look like we haven't done much, because a large portion of the already packed boxes won't be stacked up, looking smug and neat and properly labeled.

Bah.

The whirlwind

We are all the way through my second week back already. And it is August. O_o
How is it already August?? How is it already almost halfway through August??

Whatever month it is, the weather is absolutely summery, and our garden is eating up the sunshine. ^_^

A garden which, because fate loves irony, I won't be able to harvest.

Because my parents sold the house.

We were almost homeless for a week or more, and then they were able to clinch a deal on a new home that is in the same neighbourhood (we are downsizing, and why this has happened right now and so quickly is quite the convoluted story, for all it only took 6 days to transpire, tis the only reason we would leave our comfy abode).

The new house needs a rehaul though. Renovations all over the place, and quiet extensively! So. We will get there eventually. Although we could be living out of suitcases for a few months before we bother to really move in.

Which means that my Mother and I are drawing ideas out of little slips of paper every time we hold still, and buying decorating magazines, and wandering around home reno stores, and talking about colour schemes and style ideas every time we drive somewhere together.

Which means that despite my best efforts to hold still for more than a few months and live in one place for a year solid - I'm moving again this September.

And in the back of mind what I really, truly, honestly hope is that the new owners (because they do happen to be friends of ours) will let me sneak into the backyard and harvest the onions and carrots and swiss chard.

*pweez*
